Why Do People Seek Spiritual Help in the Wrong Places?
Discover why many people turn to psychics, mediums, or the occult for spiritual guidance—and how true freedom and answers are found in Christ.
Living Bridge exists to help people experience healing, freedom, and wholeness through biblically based teaching and practical prayer ministry. We run one-day courses, Healing Retreats, and Personal Ministry Appointments (PMAs), while also training Christians to minister effectively in their churches and communities. Our approach combines Scripture, prayer, and Spirit-led guidance, helping individuals address emotional, spiritual, and relational challenges. Living Bridge also equips prayer ministers to serve others, fostering a growing network of healing and teaching. By participating, you can experience personal transformation and gain tools to support others in their journey of faith.

Most Living Bridge events currently take place in the Home Counties and surrounding areas, including Surrey, Berkshire, and Hampshire. Courses and Healing Retreats are hosted in local churches or event centres, providing a welcoming, accessible environment. While the ministry is expanding, regional hubs are being considered to allow people from further afield to attend without excessive travel. Many events are one-day courses, making them easier to fit into busy schedules. For those unable to attend in person, we are developing online resources, videos, and guidance materials to support spiritual growth and prayer ministry wherever you are.

While Living Bridge is Christian-based and rooted in biblical teaching, we welcome all adults who are open to learning about prayer, healing, and personal growth. Courses and ministry sessions are designed to be accessible and respectful to all participants, regardless of background. However, the teaching, prayer ministry, and practices are explicitly Christian in nature, emphasizing Scripture, forgiveness, and Spirit-led guidance. Participants benefit most when they engage with the material in an open and reflective way. For non-Christians, attending can still provide insight into spiritual practices and emotional healing principles.

Most "Jesus Heals" days and introductory courses are free, but donations are welcome to support the ministry. Some advanced training courses may have fees to cover materials and venue costs. Full details are provided on the Events page for each course.
One-day courses usually run from morning until late afternoon, including teaching, worship, and prayer ministry sessions. Healing Retreats may also span the day, with extended time for individual ministry.
Yes. Many participants return to attend multiple courses to deepen understanding, continue their healing journey, or take additional ministry training. Courses can also be used as prerequisites for advanced training or ministry team participation.
We encourage participants to watch any recommended teaching videos and read preparatory materials. Bring an open heart, a willingness to receive prayer, and a readiness to engage with the teaching. Comfortable clothing and a notebook for reflections are also useful.
Healing Retreats are full-day events where participants experience worship, teaching, and personal prayer ministry. After an initial session of teaching or guided reflection, you will receive individual Prayer Ministry from trained Living Bridge ministers. These sessions are confidential, Spirit-led, and tailored to your personal needs. Retreats provide extended time for participants to work through emotional or spiritual blocks, practice forgiveness, and gain guidance on walking in freedom.
Yes. Participation in a "Jesus Heals" day or other Living Bridge course is the recommended first step. Courses provide foundational teaching on biblical principles of healing and prepare participants for one-to-one prayer ministry. Pre-course teaching videos or materials are often suggested to help you engage fully with the retreat experience.

If you have previously attended a Healing Retreat or course and feel you need further ministry, you can request a PMA via email. Include the subject line: "Application for Personal Ministry Appointment". PMAs are confidential, one-to-one sessions with trained prayer ministers and provide focused time for individual prayer and guidance.
Yes. Many participants return for additional ministry sessions or PMAs as they continue their healing journey. The process allows for ongoing guidance, prayer, and reflection. Simply contact us through the email on our Contact Us page to request a session.
Absolutely. All Living Bridge ministry sessions are carried out by trained and vetted prayer ministers who operate under clear safeguarding and confidentiality policies. Everything shared during a ministry appointment is treated with respect and kept private within the ministry team. Prayer ministers are committed to maintaining confidentiality, except in rare situations where there may be a legal, safeguarding, or serious welfare concern that requires sharing information with appropriate authorities or supervisors.
These boundaries are in place to protect everyone involved and ensure ministry remains a safe, responsible, and Spirit-led environment. Living Bridge is committed to creating spaces where participants can pray, share, and receive without fear or pressure, trusting that all ministry is handled with care and integrity.
The Prayer Ministry Skills course is a foundational program designed to equip Christians with the knowledge and practical skills needed to minister effectively in prayer settings. Participants learn how to pray biblically and sensitively for others, how emotional and spiritual issues can affect well-being, and how to provide guidance under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. This course is ideal for anyone seeking to grow in personal ministry, support church teams, or prepare for service with Living Bridge. It combines teaching, practical exercises, and supervised ministry practice, ensuring participants gain confidence and discernment.
The course is open to adults from all Christian backgrounds who wish to grow in prayer ministry. No prior experience is required, though participants are encouraged to have personal experience of healing or engagement with prayer ministry. It is suitable for individuals who want to serve in their own church, community, or as part of Living Bridge’s ministry team. Participants learn both biblical teaching and practical ministry techniques, and develop the confidence to pray with others safely and effectively under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
To join the ministry team, participants first complete the Prayer Ministry Skills course (or equivalent prior training). After training, prospective ministers assist experienced team members at courses and Healing Retreats. All team members must provide a current DBS check, attend ongoing training, and participate in regular supervision. Once mentored, team members can progress to lead ministry roles. This ensures that ministry is safe, Spirit-led, and biblically grounded.
Living Bridge requires that all prayer ministers complete formal training, either through the Prayer Ministry Skills and Advanced Prayer Ministry Skills courses, or equivalent prior training such as NETS programs. Ministers must also have attended a Healing Retreat and relevant courses addressing personal healing needs. Ongoing training, supervision, and safeguarding updates are mandatory, ensuring ministers are equipped to serve safely, confidently, and effectively.
Absolutely. The courses are designed to equip Christians to minister in their own churches, small groups, or local communities. You will learn practical, biblical principles, spiritual discernment, and safe ministry practices that can be applied beyond Living Bridge events. Many participants take what they learn to support others, lead prayer ministry teams, or teach principles of healing and freedom in their local context.

No prior understanding is required to experience healing. Living Bridge provides teaching and guidance, but the key element is an open heart and willingness to allow God to work. During courses or ministry sessions, prayer ministers may explain biblical principles, but you do not need to fully grasp every concept to benefit. Healing often unfolds progressively, and participants may continue to receive insight, freedom, and peace over time. Engaging with teaching resources, like our videos or course materials, can enhance your understanding but is not a prerequisite.
Healing is a personal journey and differs for each individual. Some people experience immediate peace, clarity, or emotional release, while for others, it may be gradual, unfolding over weeks, months, or multiple ministry sessions. Ongoing prayer, reflection, and personal study of Scripture can help consolidate healing and support long-term transformation. Living Bridge encourages participants to take what they learn in courses and ministry appointments and apply it in daily life, cultivating ongoing freedom and spiritual growth.
More about: Our Courses | Personal Ministry
The Holy Spirit is central to all healing ministry at Living Bridge. Ministers do not rely on their own wisdom but seek God’s guidance to pray effectively and discern what each person needs. The Holy Spirit brings comfort, insight, and power, revealing areas where God’s healing touch is required. Participants are encouraged to remain open and receptive, trusting God to work according to His timing and purposes. Healing is ultimately God’s work, with ministers serving as guides and partners in the process.
Prayer ministry helps participants connect with God and experience His healing power. During ministry, trained prayer ministers guide individuals in prayer, listening to the Holy Spirit, and applying biblical principles such as forgiveness, repentance, and releasing emotional burdens. Healing can be emotional, spiritual, or sometimes physical, depending on God’s work in the person’s life. It’s important to understand that ministry does not replace medical care or professional support but complements it by addressing the spiritual and emotional dimensions of well-being. By participating in prayer ministry, many people experience peace, clarity, and freedom from past wounds.
Yes. Many biblical and psychological principles show that unresolved anger, unforgiveness, trauma, or generational patterns can impact emotional, spiritual, and even physical well-being. Living Bridge teaches participants to recognise these patterns and pray through them in a safe, Spirit-led environment. By addressing emotional and spiritual barriers, many people find improvements in relationships, mental clarity, and overall sense of peace - sometimes even noticing positive effects on physical health. Healing is holistic, addressing body, mind, and spirit together.
