Prayer Ministry Training

At Living Bridge, we believe that effective prayer ministry flows from sound biblical teaching, personal wholeness, and practical training. Our aim is not only to grow our own ministry team but also to equip others to bring healing prayer into their own churches and communities.

1. Training for Your Own Prayer Ministry

Many people attend Living Bridge events because they want to learn how to pray for others more effectively - whether in a prayer team, a pastoral setting, or simply to support friends and family.

Our Prayer Ministry Skills and Advanced Prayer Ministry Skills courses are designed to give a biblical understanding of healing, forgiveness, and spiritual freedom, alongside practical tools for safe and sensitive ministry.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Pray with and for others under the guidance of the Holy Spirit
  • Recognise how issues such as trauma, unforgiveness, or generational patterns can affect people’s lives
  • Minister in ways that are biblically grounded, compassionate, and Spirit-led
  • Build confidence and maturity in your personal prayer life

This training is suitable for any Christian who desires to grow in prayer ministry - whether you plan to join Living Bridge, serve in your church, or simply learn for personal growth.

2. Joining the Living Bridge Ministry Team

If you feel called to serve as part of the Living Bridge Ministry Team, we’d love to hear from you.

Our team members come from many different backgrounds, but all share a passion for seeing God bring freedom and healing through prayer. All current ministers have completed formal training - either the former NETS programme or the Prayer Ministry Skills and Advanced Prayer Ministry Skills courses - and have provided a current DBS check.

Additional expectations include:

  • Attendance at a Healing Retreat and other relevant courses
  • A willingness to receive ongoing personal ministry and supervision
  • Commitment to ongoing training in safeguarding and ministry development

New ministers begin as assistants working alongside experienced "lead" prayer ministers. After a period of practice, reflection, and mentoring, they may be invited to take on more responsibility within the team.

If you are interested in becoming a team member:

  • Please begin by joining the Prayer Ministry Skills course (see the Events page for upcoming dates).

If you have already completed significant parts of the former Ellel training or equivalent experience, please get in touch with us directly to discuss next steps.

3. Ongoing Training and Growth

We believe that all of us are "works in progress."  Our team members continue to grow in their own healing journey and receive further prayer ministry and training as needed.

Regular workshops, safeguarding updates, and new teaching ensure that our approach stays biblically sound, spiritually discerning, and practically effective.
